Partnership
How we frame a management partnership
A management discussion needs to connect the hotel context with the partnership scope. The Feathers Hotels approach follows four stages without replacing the agreement of terms for each relationship.
Before the four stages
The starting point is the property and the owner’s needs. The discussion should clarify the model, responsibilities and decision limits.
Initial Assessment
Gaining an in-depth understanding of the asset, its market positioning, and its operational requirements. Prepare the property context and the topics you want to discuss.
Structural Alignment
Defining the management framework and partnership structure best suited to the property. The discussion should clarify the areas covered, resources and each party’s responsibilities.
Scope and Resources
Clear definition of covered areas and resources allocated to operations.
Decision Boundaries
Identification of matters requiring explicit approval from the owner.
What needs to be explicit
Which activities are covered? Who delivers and employs? Which decisions need approval? How is information shared? The name of a model should not leave these points implicit.
- 01
Which specific operational activities are covered by the agreement?
- 02
Who executes daily operations and who employs on-site teams?
- 03
Which commercial and financial decisions require prior approval?
- 04
How does operational and management information circulate?
- 05
What are the day-to-day channels and authority boundaries?
Operational Integration
Integration stays within the agreed scope. This page sets no timetable and no resources for a specific hotel.
Ongoing Performance
Regular review within the scope. Indicators, frequency and recipients are set in the partnership. It is not a guarantee of results.
Information
Consolidated operational and channel data.
Explanation
Comparative market context and trends.
Action
Adjustments agreed with the owner.
