Revenue and performance, with clearer decisions

A reading of revenue and performance for an independent hotel, for decisions agreed with the owner. Reviewing it is not changing rates or channels.

Which commercial decisions need your attention?

Start with decision boundaries ↓

Revenue needs more than one headline figure

Bookings, channels and internal records do not always describe the same thing. High occupancy does not prove profit: revenue does not, by itself, deduct costs.

What to discuss when defining revenue support

These topics organise the discussion. None is included without a written agreement.

Reviewing revenue and performance

Compare periods once the source of the figures is identified. The reading separates what the numbers show from what is still unknown.

Putting pricing in context

Discuss rates, conditions and priorities. A recommendation is not a rate change.

Understanding distribution

Read channels and their conditions. A proposal does not authorise opening, closing or renegotiating channels.

Information for the owner

Agree what is reported, to whom and in what form. Observation, recommendation and an approved decision stay separate.

From available data to agreed decisions

The sequence is the one on the Approach page. It sets no timetable, tools or access.

  1. Stage 01

Understand the hotel and its existing information

Identify the channels, the records and who maintains them.

  2. Stage 02

Agree scope, indicators and approval rights

State what is reviewed, what is excluded and who may approve a change.

  3. Stage 03

    Arrange access and information sharing

If systems access is needed, authorisation, user profiles and account ownership are set first.

  4. Stage 04

    Review information and decisions

Agree when performance is reviewed and how the decision is recorded.

Reviewing results informs the next review of commercial priorities.

Decision rights, implementation and account access

Reviewing performance is not day-to-day management of rates or channels. A change is part of the partnership only if the agreement names who carries it out, who approves it and with what access. Engaging this area on its own is not confirmed. There is no permanent cover and no round-the-clock availability.

Questions about revenue and performance

Does Feathers change the hotel's rates and channels?

Not through this review. A change exists only if the partnership names who carries it out and who approves it.

Is revenue performance the same as profitability?

No. Revenue does not deduct costs. Discussing profit needs cost information that has been agreed.

Can revenue support be engaged on its own?

Engaging this area on its own is not confirmed. If that is the need, say so when you get in touch.
